China’s Warehousing Index Rebounds: Up 3.7 Percentage Points to 50.2%

Beijing, Sept 03 (Alliance News): The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing has announced the August figures for China’s Logistics Industry Prosperity Index and Warehousing Index.

In August, China’s Logistics Industry Prosperity Index increased to 51.5%, a rise of 0.5 percentage points from July.

This growth reflects a strong demand for logistics in various sectors, including industrial products, automobile parts, electrical machinery, and pharmaceuticals.

The air transport, warehousing, and multimodal transport sectors also saw notable improvements, with their business indices reaching 57%, 52%, and 52.5%, respectively.

Demand for aquatic products, fruits, vegetables, outdoor recreation items, and sports equipment surged by more than 10% compared to the previous month. Regionally, logistics business volume recovered across China’s eastern, central, and western areas, with the eastern region seeing the highest increase of 0.7 percentage points.

The Warehousing Index for August stood at 50.2%, marking a significant rebound of 3.7 percentage points from July, ending a four-month decline and returning to growth.
