BEIJING, Dec 3 (Alliance News): BRICS nations remain committed to fostering collaboration among emerging markets and developing countries, steering clear of bloc confrontations or targeting any third party, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jilin stated on Tuesday during a press briefing.
Highlighting BRICS’ role as a vital platform for global prosperity, Lin emphasized China’s readiness to work closely with its BRICS partners to deepen cooperation across various sectors, contributing to the stability and sustainability of the global economy.
The statement comes in light of recent remarks by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who warned of imposing a 100% tariff if BRICS countries proceed with their plans to establish a currency to replace the U.S. dollar.
