ISLAMABAD, Nov 20 (Alliance News): Italy’s top construction firm, Webuild, has assured that work on Saudi Arabia’s ambitious NEOM project remains on track, despite the recent resignation of the project’s CEO.
In a statement, Webuild confirmed, “There is no evidence of changes to the original activity plan or delays in payments for the projects we are implementing.”
NEOM, a transformative urban and industrial initiative along the Red Sea, aims to house nine million residents and is central to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan to diversify its economy.
Webuild is actively involved in constructing three dams to supply water to NEOM’s Trojena area and developing a high-speed rail system, the Connector, to integrate the city’s infrastructure.
The unexpected departure of NEOM’s CEO last week has fueled speculation about potential shifts in the project’s scale, but Webuild reaffirmed its commitment to delivering on its contracts.
