China Condemns Canada Over Alleged Interference and Sanctions

BEIJING, Dec 11 (Alliance News): Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning criticized Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly’s recent remarks, accusing Canada of disregarding facts and using alleged human rights issues to defame China and impose unwarranted sanctions on Chinese nationals.

“This constitutes a serious interference in China’s internal affairs and violates international law and the fundamental principles of international relations,” Mao said during a press briefing.

China strongly condemns and opposes these actions, urging Canada to immediately cease its interference, stop harming China’s interests under the pretext of human rights, and lift the “illegal sanctions” on Chinese individuals.

Mao emphasized that safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and development aligns with the will and interests of the Chinese people.

She called on Canada to adhere to principles of mutual respect and non-interference to maintain bilateral relations.
