China’s Foreign Trade Maintains Steady Growth in 2024

BEIJING, Nov 22 (Alliance News): China’s foreign trade has continued to show steady growth in 2024, with the total value of imports and exports from January to October reaching 36 trillion yuan, reflecting a 5.2% year-on-year increase, according to Wang Shuwen, international trade negotiator and vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce.

Wang made the announcement at a regular policy briefing hosted by the Information Office of the State Council of China. He noted that China’s international market share remained stable during the period.

On November 8, the Chinese State Council reviewed and approved a set of measures aimed at ensuring the stability of foreign trade.

The Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with other government departments, has proposed nine key policies to support foreign trade enterprises and address the changing international trade landscape.

These initiatives are expected to help navigate global trade challenges and support the sustainable growth of China’s foreign trade sector.
