ISLAMABAD, Dec 30 (Alliance News): The Pakistani government has initiated the process of blocking the passports of more than 10,000 citizens accused of various crimes in Iran, Interior Ministry sources revealed.
A total of 10,050 Pakistani nationals are implicated in offenses ranging from human trafficking and illegal residency to drug-related crimes and extremism. According to officials, over 5,000 individuals were deported by Iranian authorities within the last 18 months.
The sources further stated that more than 4,000 Pakistanis were apprehended for illegally crossing into Iran. Efforts to crack down on illegal border activities and associated crimes are being intensified to prevent future violations.
The move underscores Pakistan’s commitment to addressing transnational crimes and maintaining stronger bilateral relations with neighboring Iran.
