Russian Lawmakers Warn US Missiles in Ukraine Could Lead to World War Three

MOSCOW, Nov 18 (Alliance News): Senior Russian lawmakers have issued stern warnings that any Ukrainian strike on Russian territory using US-made long-range missiles could trigger World War Three.

The remarks follow the US decision to allow Kyiv to use advanced missiles in their fight against Russia, marking a significant shift in Washington’s stance.

Andrei Klishas, a senior member of the Federation Council, warned that this escalation could lead to the destruction of Ukraine’s statehood.

“The West has decided on such a level of escalation that it could end with the Ukrainian statehood in complete ruins by morning,” he said on Telegram.

Vladimir Dzhabarov, first deputy head of the Russian upper house’s international affairs committee, described the decision as a “huge step” toward a broader global conflict, warning that Moscow’s response would be swift.

President Vladimir Putin had previously stated that the use of Western-made missiles in Ukraine would change the nature of the conflict and could lead to direct confrontation with the West.

He suggested that Russia would be forced to make “appropriate decisions” in response to the growing threats.

Leonid Slutsky, head of the State Duma’s foreign affairs committee, echoed these concerns, warning that US authorisation for strikes with ATACMS missiles would escalate the situation, with severe consequences for global stability.
