KYIV, Dec 20 (Alliance News): Russia’s defense ministry launched long-range missile strikes on Ukrainian military targets on Friday, retaliating against a recent Ukrainian attack on a chemical plant in the Rostov region, Russia.
According to the ministry, the strike targeted facilities including the SBU command post, the Kyiv Luch design bureau, and various missile systems.
This escalation followed the use of American-made ATACMS missiles by Ukraine to strike Russian infrastructure earlier this week.
The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the attack was in response to what it called “actions of the Kyiv regime, supported by Western curators.”
In related news, a number of foreign embassies in Ukraine were damaged, with reports from Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tykhyi, confirming that embassies of Albania, Argentina, Palestine, North Macedonia, Portugal, and Montenegro were impacted by smashed windows and doors.
Portugal’s embassy sustained light damage, and the country summoned the Russian chargé d’affaires to register an official protest.
