MUNICH, Feb 14 (Alliance News): An Afghan national drove a car into a crowd of workers in Munich, injuring at least 28 people, with two in critical condition, according to German authorities.
The suspected attacker, a 24-year-old Afghan asylum seeker, has been taken into custody.
Police revealed that the suspect was already facing serious charges of theft and drug trafficking in Germany and had been issued deportation orders. Bavaria’s Prime Minister suggested the incident could be an act of terrorism, though investigations are ongoing.
The attack occurred just hours before the arrival of US Vice President JD Vance and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for the Munich Security Conference, raising security concerns.
Last month, a similar violent incident took place in Aschaffenburg, where an Afghan national was arrested for a knife attack that killed two and injured two others.
