Bangladesh Seeks Extradition of Sheikh Hasina from India

DHAKA, Nov 18 (Alliance News): Bangladesh’s interim government plans to request India for the extradition of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid.

Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Younis, addressing the nation on the 100-day milestone of the interim administration, stressed the need for justice.

He vowed accountability for the deaths during the country’s political unrest and said Sheikh Hasina must face the law.

The former prime minister fled to India after resigning on August 5 amid a violent student-led protest against the controversial quota system.

The protests claimed over 1,500 lives and injured more than 19,000 people, shaking the nation’s political stability.
