NEW YORK, Nov 08 (Alliance News) — Following the results of the U.S. presidential election, President Joe Biden addressed the nation from the White House Rose Garden, emphasizing the importance of a peaceful transition of power.
Biden confirmed that the transition to the new administration will take place on January 20, 2025, in accordance with the will of the people.
“We accept the decision of the people, and we will ensure a peaceful and orderly transfer of power,” Biden said, reiterating his commitment to working with President-elect Trump’s team to ensure a smooth transition.
The president praised the resilience of the American people and the strength of the U.S. economy under his administration, calling it a “historic presidency.”
Biden also expressed his admiration for Vice President Kamala Harris, calling her a strong colleague and a brilliant public servant who played a key role in the election’s success. “Kamala Harris and her entire team should be proud of their campaign,” he added.
In his speech, Biden reinforced the democratic values of the nation, stating, “In a democracy, the will of the people always comes first.
Defeat in the election does not mean defeat for us; we will continue working for the development of our country.”
He urged the American people to unite, regardless of their political affiliations, and “lower the temperature” for the sake of national unity.
Biden also emphasized the integrity of the electoral process, asserting that the elections were “honest, fair, and transparent,” and that the public’s decision should be accepted as a testament to the strength of American democracy.
