BRASILIA, Nov 22(Alliance News): Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed China’s commitment to working with Brazil to forge a “China-Brazil community with a shared future,” aiming for a new era of collaboration between the two nations.
In a speech at a banquet hosted by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Xi thanked the Brazilian leadership and people for their warm reception, congratulating Brazil on its significant progress under Lula’s leadership.
Xi and Lula outlined their vision for bilateral relations, announcing the development of a China-Brazil society focused on a fairer world and a more sustainable planet.
The two leaders also attended a signing ceremony for cooperation documents that align China’s Belt and Road Initiative with Brazil’s development strategies.
Reflecting on the relationship’s success over the past 50 years, Xi expressed confidence in the future and highlighted the strong achievements of the two nations.
Brazilian President Lula praised China’s progress, especially its success in lifting 100 million people out of poverty under Xi Jinping’s leadership.
He described the Brazil-China relationship as a model of solidarity, cooperation, and mutual benefit, emphasizing the importance of this partnership for countries in the Global South.
Lula further stated that Brazil, like China, is a society built on the foundation of strength and prosperity.
