China Imposes Countermeasures on US Military-Industrial Firms and Executives Over Arms Sales to Taiwan

BEIJING, Dec 5 (Alliance News): China’s Foreign Ministry announced decisive countermeasures against U.S. military-industrial enterprises and senior executives following Washington’s recent arms sale to Taiwan.

The decision, announced in response to what China called a violation of the one-China principle and three China-US joint declarations, described the action as a significant infringement on China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Effective December 5, 2024, the measures involve freezing assets, both movable and immovable, of 13 U.S. entities, including Daida Brown Engineering Company.

Additionally, six senior U.S. corporate executives, such as Barbara Bourgonui, President of Raytheon Company’s Naval Forces Strategic Business Unit, will also face asset freezes within China.

These individuals and organizations are prohibited from any business transactions, collaborations, or related activities within China’s borders.

Furthermore, affected executives will be barred from entering China, including Hong Kong and Macau, and will not be issued visas.
