Democratic VP Nominee Walz Labels Trump “Unstable,” Vance Questions Harris’s Role on Immigration in VP Debate

New York, Oct 2 (Alliance News): In a vice presidential debate hosted by CBS, Democrat Tim Walz and Republican JD Vance clashed on issues ranging from immigration to the economy.

Walz criticized former President Donald Trump as an “unstable leader,” while Vance questioned Vice President Kamala Harris’s effectiveness on key issues like inflation and immigration.

The debate between Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, and US Senator JD Vance (R-OH), the Republican VP nominee, centered on significant policy differences, with both candidates avoiding direct personal attacks.

Instead, they focused on defending their respective running mates, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.

Vance launched a consistent critique of Harris’s role in President Joe Biden’s administration, particularly her handling of inflation and immigration.

He questioned why Harris had not implemented her proposed solutions during her current tenure.

“If Kamala Harris has such great plans for the middle class, why hasn’t she done them already?” Vance asked, echoing a line of criticism often used by Trump.

Walz countered by describing Trump as an unstable leader, pointing out his failure to follow through on immigration reform despite having four years in office.

He noted Trump’s influence in derailing a bipartisan border security bill earlier this year.

The candidates also addressed the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, with Walz accusing Trump of being too sympathetic to authoritarian figures to handle such crises effectively. Vance, in contrast, argued that Trump’s foreign policy had made the world more secure.

The debate took place as Israel continued its military actions in Lebanon, and Iran retaliated with missile strikes. The escalating crisis added urgency to discussions about national security during the debate.

Trump, closely following the event, posted his thoughts on social media throughout the debate, sometimes multiple times per minute on his Truth Social platform.
