NEW YORK, Sept 23 (Alliance News): U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris is advocating for another debate next month, while former President Donald Trump is dismissing the idea, pointing to the start of early voting in several states.
At a fundraiser on Sunday, Harris urged Trump to accept her proposal for a debate on CNN scheduled for October 23, following their September 10 debate on ABC.
“He should accept because I feel very strongly that we owe it to the American people and to the voters to meet once more before Election Day,” she stated.
Harris emphasized the competitive nature of the election, asserting, “This race is as close as it could be. This is a margin of error race.”
In response, a Trump campaign representative referenced comments made by Trump at a rally in North Carolina, where he stated, “The problem with another debate is that it’s just too late. Voting has already started.”
With the election looming on November 5, the call for a second debate underscores the intensifying battle for voter support.
