Iran Faces UN Criticism After Missile Strikes on Israel, Calls for Sanctions Intensify

New York, Oct 3 (Alliance News): The Israeli delegate to the United Nations has called for severe consequences for Iran following its ballistic missile attacks on Israel, urging the international community to impose sanctions on Tehran.

This statement came during an emergency UN Security Council meeting amidst heightened tensions in the region.

At the emergency session of the United Nations Security Council, Israel’s representative strongly condemned Iran’s missile strikes, stating that Iran would face repercussions “beyond its imagination.”

The Israeli delegate described Iran as a threat to “all civilized nations” and urged the Security Council to impose immediate sanctions to curb further aggression.

The Israeli delegate accused Iran of endangering not only Israel but also its own people through reckless actions. He emphasized that such acts of aggression demand global intervention.

In response, Iran’s representative at the meeting countered by accusing Israel of provoking instability in the region, particularly through its military actions in Gaza and Lebanon.

The Iranian delegate argued that the missile strikes were a necessary response to months of Israeli provocations, aimed at maintaining regional balance and deterrence.

The exchange of heated remarks came after Iran launched more than 400 ballistic missiles at Israel, targeting various locations including Isfahan, Tabriz, Khorramabad, Karaj, and Arak.

The strikes triggered sirens across Israel, including in occupied Jerusalem, as the country responded to the barrage.
