Israel Prepares for Ceasefire with Hezbollah Amid Heavy Casualties in Lebanon

Tel Aviv, Oct 31 (Alliance News):: Israel has indicated readiness for a ceasefire with Hezbollah following heavy casualties suffered by its forces in Lebanon.

The proposed truce includes steps for Israel and Lebanon to implement UN resolutions, with Israeli media reporting that a draft agreement outlines a 60-day ceasefire period to finalize terms.

According to reports, Israel would initiate a withdrawal of forces from Lebanon within seven days of the ceasefire, after which Lebanese forces would assume positions.

Caretaker Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati expressed optimism that the ceasefire agreement could be reached within hours.

Sami Abu Zahri indicated that a response has been delivered to mediators concerning new proposals for a Gaza ceasefire.

Meanwhile, the White House has noted circulating reports on an Israel-Lebanon truce, though they say these drafts do not reflect any ongoing negotiations.

The reports also suggest that Israel has shifted its stance on pushing Hezbollah away from the Litani River due to recent heavy losses.

According to Palestinian media, 62 Israelis have been killed in Lebanon and Gaza by Hamas and Hezbollah attacks this month.
