Israel Puts Army on Standby After US President’s Gaza Occupation Announcement

JERUSALEM, Feb 6 (Alliance News): Israel’s Defense Minister has ordered the army to be on high alert following the US President’s controversial announcement regarding the occupation of Gaza, Arab media reported on Thursday.

The Israeli Defense Minister stated that the army is prepared to facilitate the voluntary departure of Gaza residents, a move that has drawn significant international criticism.

The statement came after US President Donald Trump’s announcement, which was met with strong opposition from the global community.

The Israeli Defense Minister welcomed Trump’s plan, saying that Gaza residents should be allowed to migrate freely, as is the norm worldwide.

When asked which countries would accept Palestinian refugees, the Minister responded that nations opposing Israel’s military operations, such as Spain, Ireland, and Norway, should now allow Gaza residents to enter legally.

He added that Israel is making special arrangements to transport Palestinians by land and sea.

Following the US President’s announcement, several countries strongly condemned the plan, prompting US officials to issue clarifications.
