Tel Aviv, Nov 14 (Alliance News): Israel’s Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, announced plans to fully integrate the West Bank into Israel by next year, asserting Israeli sovereignty over the region.
Smotrich stated that while no formal decision has been made, discussions with a future U.S. administration could address this issue.
In response, a spokesperson for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the statement, labeling it a clear intention by Israel to annex the West Bank in defiance of international law.
Smotrich, known for his far-right views, has long supported Israeli settlement in the West Bank.
