London, Oct 7 (Alliance News): Nearly a year into the current phase of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, thousands of demonstrators gathered in central London on October 5, demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and an end to the UK’s arms trade with Israel.

Marching near British government offices and outside Downing Street, protesters urged Prime Minister Starmer to stop supporting genocide in any form.

While London police couldn’t confirm the exact turnout, they acknowledged the protest was much larger than recent demonstrations.

In Edinburgh, protesters echoed similar demands, urging the UK government to impose sanctions on Israel.

The London rally was part of a broader wave of global protests, with simultaneous marches in Paris, Rome, Berlin, Madrid, Barcelona, and Cape Town.

Protesters worldwide expressed solidarity with Palestinians and called for an end to the ongoing violence in the Gaza Strip and the wider Middle East.
