Ukrainian Drone Attack Destroys Ammunition Depot in Western Russia

Ukrainian, Sep 18 (Alliance News): An overnight drone attack by Ukraine successfully destroyed an ammunition depot in the western Russian region of Tver, according to a source from Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU).

The Ukrainian drones targeted a warehouse in Toropets operated by the Russian defense ministry, which was storing Iskander and Tochka-U tactical missile systems, guided aerial bombs, and artillery ammunition.

The attack caused significant fires, as reported by the regional government. Governor Igor Rudenya ordered a partial evacuation of the area early Wednesday morning to allow emergency services to manage the situation.

Verified videos on social media depicted loud explosions and multiple buildings within the depot complex engulfed in flames.

The local government announced the evacuation decision to ensure emergency services could effectively contain the fires.

The Ukrainian source indicated that such attacks are part of a methodical strategy to diminish Russia’s missile capabilities and noted plans for further assaults on similar military facilities.
