New York, Nov 1 (Alliance News): The United States is reportedly pushing for Israel to retain the authority to continue military strikes in Lebanon for up to two months after a potential ceasefire.
According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, top U.S. officials currently in Israel are advocating this proposal to address security concerns, citing unnamed senior officials.
If implemented, the plan is expected to face strong opposition from Hezbollah and the Lebanese government, who view it as a serious threat to Lebanon’s stability and territorial integrity.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces have launched three airstrikes on Tayr, a city in southern Lebanon. According to sources, the Islamic Health Organization, an entity linked to Hamas, was the primary target.
Several individuals sustained injuries in the initial attack, and when an ambulance arrived to assist, it too was reportedly targeted.
