Xi Jinping and AU Chairman Faki Forge Stronger China-Africa Ties at FOCAC Summit

Beijing, Sept 03 (Alliance News): Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Musa Faki Mohammed, Chairman of the African Union Commission, during the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit in Beijing on Tuesday.

President Xi highlighted the AU’s role as a symbol of African unity and its importance in international cooperation.

He praised the deepening political trust between China and the AU and expressed China’s commitment to enhancing this partnership.

Xi emphasized that Africa is a key focus of China’s foreign policy and pledged to strengthen political exchanges and practical cooperation.

Musa Faki Mohammed expressed gratitude for China’s support and praised President Xi for his leadership in developing the China-Africa partnership.

He noted China’s significant contributions to African infrastructure, health, energy, and security over the past 50 years. Faki reiterated Africa’s support for China’s core interests and endorsed China’s major global initiatives.

In addition to meeting with Faki, President Xi also visited representatives from Chad, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Guinea during the summit.
