Hong Kong, Sept 18 (Alliance News): Russia and China have deepened their military cooperation by participating in large-scale joint exercises, dubbed “Ocean-2024,” as tensions with the West escalate.
The drills, which involved 90,000 troops and 500 ships and aircraft, marked the largest such exercise in three decades and were aimed at demonstrating strength to the United States.
While 15 nations were invited to observe, only China actively participated, sending warships and aircraft to Russian waters.
The drills are part of a broader trend of increased military coordination between the two nations, raising concerns in Washington about their alignment amid ongoing global crises, including Russia’s war in Ukraine and China’s actions in the South China Sea.
