Beijing, Nov 7 (Alliance News): At the 2024 World IoT Conference, China unveiled the world’s first “World IoT Digital Economy White Paper,” marking a significant milestone in the digital economy and the Internet of Things (IoT) sector.
According to the data presented, China is on track to exceed 3 billion IoT connections by the end of 2024. As of July, the country had 11.93 million mobile communication base stations, and by August, IoT users reached 2.565 billion.
For the first time, the number of IoT connections in China has surpassed the number of mobile phone connections, establishing China as the global leader in IoT infrastructure.
China’s vast network of Internet base stations has made it the largest, most diverse, and most efficient in the world.
The annual output value of China’s digital economy is expected to exceed 7 billion yuan, with a growth rate exceeding 20%. Furthermore, nearly one million companies in China are now capable of utilizing IoT technology.
He Shumeng, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the World IoT Conference, highlighted the rapid growth of the digital economy driven by IoT technology, noting a 23% global increase in IoT connections this year, which now exceeds 25 billion worldwide.
